The Eastern District of Texas has a new U.S. Attorney. Stephen J Cox is replacing Joseph
Brown, who resigned last week. The 42-year old Houston native is the chief federal law
enforcement official in the 43 counties in the Eastern District of Texas, a district that stretches
from the Oklahoma border to here in Southeast Texas. Cox most recently served as Deputy
Associate Attorney General and Chief of Staff within the Department’s Office of the
Associate Attorney General.
