The DPS has arrested a Newton County man for criminally negligent homicide. 56-year old
Andy Ray Hubbard, of Bon Weir, is charged with a February crash that killed 17-year old
Connor Lane Mitchell, of Bon Weir. Hubbard was traveling north in the southbound lane
of FM 1416, in Newton County, when hit struck Mitchell’s on coming pickup. Mitchell was
transported to the hospital where he died. Following an thorough investigation, troopers
submitted a report to the Newton County District Attorney’s Office and the charges were
filed. Hubbard was arrested last week.
