Officials say all Galveston city and county beaches will be shut down for the July Fourth
weekend because of the increase in coronavirus cases. This includes beaches on the Bolivar
Peninsula, which includes Crystal beach. Beach parking on both sides of Seawall Boulevard will
be blocked off. The county will cut off access to beaches outside the city limits at 5 a.m.
Friday. The beaches will be closed until Sunday night at midnight.
