The plan that follows has been crafted carefully through many hours of work by our Transition Team and many sub-committees that studied all aspects of safely reopening Nederland ISD schools. Sub-committees developed plans for Academics, Operations, Employee/Staff Protocols, Distance Learning, Whole Child, and Communications. The pandemic began affecting Nederland ISD in mid-March 2020 and at that time we began making adjustments quickly with short term objectives serving as our model. Reopening schools for the 2020-2021 school year took a much more systematic and designed approach. The following document is based upon information available as of July 20, 2020. It is important that we all remember that this situation is changing daily and this plan may change daily. At this time, school will begin on Monday, August 17, 2020 with students having two options: Track One - On-Campus Learning or Track Two - Virtual Learning. The following plan outlines reopening schools for the 2020-2021 school year. For the 2020-2021 school year, Nederland ISD will offer students two options for instruction. Parents can choose between Track One or Track Two. Once a student is in a Track, they will remain in the Track through the entire grading period. An online form will be posted to the Nederland ISD website by July 22nd. Parents must choose a Track by August 3rd. Please note, submitting this information is crucial to the planning process for our campuses. The first day of instruction is Monday, August 17th, 2020. Track One is on campus learning, Track Two is virtuallearning
