Senator John Cornyn is backing a new bill that would offer ten-billion-dollars in grant funding to music venues affected by the pandemic. The Texas Republican and Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota introduced the Save Our Stages bill, providing six months of financial support to independent live venues. The money can be used for rent or mortgage, utilities, maintenance, taxes, and virus-related costs such as PPE for workers. Cornyn says the bill would allow small entertainment venues to continue inspiring people beyond the pandemic.
