Jefferson County could be selling Ford Park. The county has been approached by an interested
entity. County Judge Jeff Branick says if sold, the county will save about $7 million a year in
costs associated with maintenance, operations, principal and interest costs. The property would
then become taxable .Branick says whoever purchases Ford Park will have to honor all existing
contracts. There will be a poll box on the county’s website beginning Saturday to see if citizens
support or don’t support the sale of Ford Park. Commissioners will make a decision on whether
or not to sell Ford Park during the August 28th meeting.
