Barbers Hill ISD Dress Code Ruled Discriminatory

The dress code of the Barbers Hill ISD is discriminatory, according to a court ruling. Deandre Arnold, a former student at Barbers Hill High School, was suspended in his senior year over the length of his dreadlocks. Arnold and his family sued the district, claiming racial and sexual discrimination, as well as other violations. After three days of hearings in July, a U.S. District Court Judge for the Southern District of Texas ruled in Arnold's favor on Monday night.
