Beaumont police are investigating a fatal wreck. Police report a vehicle was traveling
southbound at a high rate of speed last night on the southbound service road in the 4200
block of Eastex Freeway when the driver struck a vehicle in front of him. The driver of
the vehiclethat imitated the contact was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of
the vehicle that was struck was transported to the hospital.
