Governor Abbott Announces Reopening Guidelines

(Austin, TX) -- Texas Governor Greg Abbott is expanding some business openings citing lower cases of coronavirus. The governor announced today the openings are on a hospital region-by-region basis based on capacity. Office buildings, restaurants, and retail outlets can open at 75-percent capacity starting next week if coronavirus hospitalizations are less than 15-percent. Bars will not be allowed to re-open, but Abbott promised he wants them to be back in business. The governor called for personal vigilance when it comes to the coronavirus pandemic and encouraged people to keep wearing masks, wash their hands, and practice social distancing. More than 14-thousand people have died from coronavirus in the state.
