Seventeen people have been arrested in connection with federal drug trafficking and firearms
violations in Jasper County. The defendants are charged with possession and conspiracy to
possess a controlled substance, possession of a firearm in drug trafficking crime, and possession
of a firearm by an unlawful user of a controlled substance. 11 of the defendants are from Jasper,
two from Beaumont, one from Vidor, one from Kirbyville, one from Brookeland, and one
from Houston.
