The Texas Rangers along with the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office continues its
investigation into Tuesday’s deadly shooting involving two Jefferson County deputy sheriff’s.
The deputies responded to a family disturbance involving a weapon in the 11000 block of
Carpenter. Deputies negotiated with the subject for several hours trying to get him to come
outside a home he barricaded himself in. When the subject exited the trailer, he pointed a
handgun towards the deputies at which time he was shot. The 59-year old Beaumont man was
transported to the hospital where he died. Both deputies have been placed on administrative
leave, which is standard policy.
