The Texas Rangers have released more information in Tuesday’s officer involved shooting in
Jefferson County. Deputies were called to a family disturbance involving a weapon in the
11000 block of Carpenter. Following a long standoff in which the armed subject barricaded
himself inside a home, 59-year old John Wesley Seymour exited the trailer and pointed a
handgun towards deputies at which time he was shot. Seymour was transported to the hospital
where he died. Two deputies have been placed on administrative leave, which is standard policy.
