Detectives with the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office are conducting a death investigation. The
body of a woman was found Saturday afternoon near a drainage ditch on Hankamer Loop Road.
It is believed the body had been the for an extended period of time. The body was transported
to the Jefferson County Morgue for an autopsy. The case is being investigated as a homicide.
