Beaumont police have released the name of a man was that shot and killed Friday night in the
3200 block of Cartwright. He has been identified as 35-year old Michael Rodriguez, of
Beaumont. A woman told police the Rodriguez, her ex-boyfriend, was attempting to break into
her house when she shot him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. An arrest has not been made
as the investigation continues.
