The city of Port Neches has fired Fire Chief Paul Nelson. Nelson was arrested Wednesday on
two counts of promotion of child pornography. He posted bonds totaling $50,000. Nelson faces
up to 20 years in prison if he is convicted. Nelson was fire chief in Port Neches for five years.
Assistant Fire Chief Mike Stegall will serve as interim chief until a new chief is hired.
