The DPS reports a Hamshire man was killed this morning in a one-vehicle wreck in Orange
County. 43-year old Tyra Hemmenway was a passenger in a pickup that was traveling east
on West Circle Drive near Vidor when the driver was traveling at an unsafe speed and lost
control and struck several trees. Hemmenway was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver
of the pickup, 38-year old Dallas Hemmenway of Hamshire, was transported to Christus St.
Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
