Today is the filing deadline for those interested in running for a seat in the May 1st elections.
Mayor, city council, and school board positions will be on the ballot. At last check, in the
city of Beaumont, five candidates had filed for mayor. Current Beaumont Mayor Becky Ames
is not seeking re-election.
