A Port Arthur man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison. 36-year old Daniel Dewayne
Shackleford pleaded guilty yesterday and was sentenced for the February 2019 death of his
girlfriend, 34-year old Aletha Ann Gonzales. She was found on her bedroom floor with a TV
on her neck and injuries to her head and neck. Shackleford initially told police he came home
from fishing and found Gonzales on the floor. He later admitted lying about fishing that day.
