The DPS reports a two vehicle wreck in Jasper County has claimed the life of a Hemphill
woman. 33-year old Colby Danielle Gates was traveling north on Highway 69 in Brookeland
yesterday morning when she crossed into the southbound lane striking an oncoming 18-wheeler.
Gates was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in her car, 32-year old Dianna Fuller of
Silsbee, was airlifted to a Conroe hospital. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
