The DPS reports two people were killed yesterday afternoon after a crane fell on their pickup
in a construction zone. The pickup was traveling west on I-10 near Smith Road in Beaumont
when the crane malfunctioned and struck the truck. Both occupants of the pickup were
pronounced dead at the scene.
