Lawmakers are back in Austin for a special session that begins today. Several issues are to be
addressed. Southeast Texas State Representative James White, of Woodville, asked Governor
Greg Abbott to add property tax relief to the special session agenda. Governor Abbott added the
item yesterday. Others issues to be addressed include elections integrity, social media
regulations, and a ban on trans athletes in high school. The special session is expected to last
about 30 days.
