The Jefferson County grand jury has indicted a Port Arthur woman woman for intoxication
Manslaughter. On April 4th, 23-year old Alexandria LaRae Perez was traveling at a high rate of
speed on Cardinal Drive when she hit a car that was on the shoulder of the road with a flat tire.
The impact ejected her 3-year old daughter Xholeia Rose Perez. The child was pronounced dead
at the scene. The investigation revealed Alexandria Perez had a blood alcohol content of more
than .18, which is twice the legal limit. She was also traveling a speeds of more than 105 miles
per hour. There were no other serious injuries in the crash.
