At a cost of just under $2.8 million dollars, the Beaumont City Council has voted in favor of
purchasingthe former AT&T building on Main Street. The funding will come from the general
fund. The city plans on demolishing the building for future development. The vote was 6-1, with
Ward 2 Councilman Mike Getz voting against the purchase.
