DPS troopers will be out once again today reminder motorists of the state’s Move Over/Slow
Down effort. In the state of Texas, motorists must move over to the next lane if there is an
emergency vehicle on the shoulder of the roadway, If you are unable to move over, you must
slow down 20 mph under the posted speed limit. These vehicles include law enforcement, EMS,
fire trucks, Tex-Dot vehicles, and tow trucks. Violations can result in a fine up to $200
