Texas Schools Cannot Make Masks Part Of Dress Code

(Austin, TX) -- Texas school districts are not being allowed to make masks part of the dress code. Governor Greg Abbott spokesperson Renae Eze [[ EE-zee ]] says they would be violating the executive order banning mask mandates if they made face coverings part of the dress code. Paris ISD in Northeast Texas and Texas City ISD near Houston both added masks this week, saying they may have found a loophole. Eze says there's no loophole and it should be up to parents and guardians on whether their child wears a mask.
