(Austin, TX) -- Gov. Greg Abbott is mobilizing the state's resources to prepare for Tropical Storm Nicholas. On Sunday, Abbott ordered the Texas State Operations Center to raise its readiness to Level Two - Escalated Response as of 9:00 this morning. The SOC is activating elements of the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Texas Military Department, and Texas Department of State Health Services, with an emphasis on rescue boats, high-water trucks, and supply packages. Abbott is also urging Texans to get ready for the storm ahead of time.
