DOJ Wants SCOTUS To Stop Texas Abortion Law

The Justice Department is asking the Supreme Court to block Texas's new abortion law. This comes just hours after a federal appeals court ruled that it can remain in effect during the legal challenge. The Texas law is the most stringent in the nation as it bans abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected. It also allows anybody to sue a provider if they feel a rule is being broken. The Supreme Court is already set to hear a different abortion case in December, stemming from a Mississippi law.
