Beaumont police are investigating a situation that occurred near Beaumont United High School
this morning. Classes were being dismissed at the school due to a power outage. Shots were
heard in the area of the school and students returned inside the building for a lockdown. One
person with a gun was taken into custody near the school. We have been told no shots were
fired on campus.
