Gun Discharges Striking 4-Year Old And 2-Year Old

The Jasper county Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that has hospitalized two young

children. A 4-year old was able to get possession of a gun that discharged. The bullet went

through the child’s arm and struck a 2-year old in the shoulder. Both children are listed in stable

condition. The sheriff’s office is investigating how the child was able to get possession of the

gun. The shooting occurred yesterday morning at a home between Kirbyville and Buna. CPS

has been notified.
