A Beaumont police officer working an escort during a funeral procession sustained numerous
serious injuries today when his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of
College and Pinchback. The officer was transported to the hospital for surgery. Beaumont police
want to remind motorists not to in drive and out of a funeral procession. The driver of the vehicle was
not hurt.
