(Houston, TX)-- A gun buyback event is planned for next weekend in Houston. Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis says people can get 200 dollars if they turn in an assault rifle and 150 dollars for handguns. Shotguns and other rifles will net someone 100 bucks while non-functioning guns are worth 50 bucks. Ellis believes those who turn in weapons at Houston's Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church on July 30th will get satisfaction knowing they're helping keep the community safe.
