Intoxication Manslaughter Trial Moves To Day 3

The intoxication manslaughter trial of 20-year old Luis Torress moves into day 3 at the

Jefferson County courthouse today. Torres is accused of driving the wrong way on Highway 69

and colliding head-on with a Beaumont police unit killing officer Sheena Yarbrough-Powell

in August of 2020. If convicted, Torress faces up to life in prison. He is also charged with

intoxication assault for injuring officer Gaberiel Fells in the same crash.
