Entergy-Texas Offers Bill Credit To Help With High Bills

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – At Entergy Texas, our business is focused on our customers, so we are taking a step forward to provide relief to Texans experiencing high bills as a result of recent challenges. Record temperatures led to historic statewide energy use this summer, and high natural gas prices continue to significantly affect the core of our company: our customers. That's why we've partnered with United Way of Greater Houston in partnership with United Ways neighbors to offer a $150 bill credit to customers who qualify on a first-come, first-served basis.

"Temperatures have gone up, the cost of natural gas has gone up, so Entergy Texas is ramping up our bill assistance efforts to ensure customers continue to have access to affordable energy," said Eliecer "Eli" Viamontes, President and CEO of Entergy Texas. "By listening to our customers and staying committed to our communities, we can provide meaningful solutions to Texas families who need extra help."

The online application for invoice credit will be available through the United Way of Greater Houston website at 9 a.m. on September 27. Customers should note that the app can be accessed via a computer or mobile phone, but a mobile phone is required to receive the passcode to verify account settings.

Although the $150 bill credit is intended for customers with low or moderate household incomes, all Entergy Texas residential customers can apply. To be eligible, clients must have a total household income of up to 250% of the federal poverty level, which is equivalent to $69,000 for a family of four. Visit www.entergy.com/answers to learn about eligibility requirements and the application process.

Invoice credits are just one of the many ways Entergy Texas is stepping up to better serve our customers. Our $1.7 million commitment for bill payment assistance for eligible residential customers includes an additional $213,000 for Entergy's Power to Care program and $170,000 for local agency partners. In addition to bill payment assistance, Entergy Texas is advancing $2.9 million in security deposits for more than 13,000 eligible customers.
