(Austin, TX) -- The Texas Legislature is expected to discuss legalizing casino and sports betting in the state in the upcoming legislative session. State Senator Carol Alvarado has been filing bills for legalized gambling since 2009.The Houston Democrat says she hopes Texans will be ready to vote on the issue this year. Alvarado points out that the bill would put the matter on a ballot and allow Texans to vote on it. She says it would specify gaming for casino resorts in Dallas, Austin, Houston, and San Antonio.
