Gas prices in the Beaumont/Port Arthur area are down five cents from last week. Today's average price in $2.94 a gallon. A year ago on February 24th we were paying $3.18 a gallon. The statewide average is is $2.94, down seven cents from last Friday. Texas continues to have the lowest average price in the country. The national average is $3.38, down four cents from last week.
