A man that is a suspect in a Beaumont carjacking and two robberies was shot by Lufkin police a
few hours later. The suspect is accused of stealing a vehicle from a woman in the parking lot
of the 7-11 convenience store on Washington Blvd Saturday night. An hour later the same
suspect robbed the Criss Cross Convenience store on MLK. At 1:15 Sunday morning, the
suspect crashed into the front of Parkdale Mall and stole thousands of dollars worth of
merchandise from kiosks. A few hours later, the same vehicle was used to commit a burglary
in Lufkin. The suspect was shot during a confrontation with Lufkin police. His condition was
not released.
