The Beaumont city council is debating how to spend money on playground equipment at city parks.
$79,000 of the funding is targeted for playground equipment at Zaharias Park on I-10. Ward 2
Councilman Mike Getz would like the funding to be used for a covered pavilion at Rogers Park. The
funding is coming from the city’s Park and Recreation Department. We will learn more about this and
other city issues during Mayor Roy West’s monthly visit tomorrow morning at 8:15.
