Abbott Could Call Third Special Session

(Austin, TX) -- Gov. Greg Abbott says he plans to call another special session on school choice, but there's some question about how willing legislators will be to work together after the fight over property tax cuts this year. It took a regular legislative session and two special sessions for the House and Senate to iron out a bill that included their preferred approaches. The struggle highlighted divisions between Abbott and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, but also between Patrick and House Speaker Dade Phelan. Leaders are trying to heal the rifts.
