The Newton County Sheriff’s Office has released an update on human remains found close to the Sabine
River near Bon Wier. A skull and backbone were found. Since July 15th, the sheriff’s office continued to
search the area and have contacted law enforcement agencies in parishes in Southwest Louisiana and
counties in Southeast Texas on missing persons. Anyone with any information can contact the Newton
County Sheriff’s Office.
