Beaumont police are investigating an attempted vehicle theft and the shooting death of a 17-year-old male. It occurred Sunday morning at the West End Crossing Apartments on Dowlen and Phelan. The teen was trying to steal a vehicle when confronted by the owner of the SUV. He shot the teen as he was attempting to flee in the vehicle. Police will present their investigation to the District Attorney’s Office to determine if charges will be filed.
