The average price for a gallon of gas heading into the long holiday weekend dropped six cents in the
Beaumont/Port Arthur area over the past week. This morning’s average price is $2.71. A year ago on
the 22nd of November we were paying $2.99 a gallon. The statewide average is down three cents to
$2.75 a gallon. Triple A Texas reporting this morning’s national average for a gallon of gas is $3.28.
