Orange County Constable Accused Of Pulling Gun

Vidor Chief of Police Rod Carroll tells KLVI they are investigating a case involving Orange County Pct. 4

Constable Matt Ortego. Ortego’s ex-wife called Vidor police this past Sunday saying he was at their

house and had a gun and was threatening to shoot their child and two other kids. Ortego reportedly

was intoxicated and was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Chief Carroll tells

us additional information will be released once the investigation is complete. We have also reached out

to Constable Ortego.
