Amarillo Man Pleads Guilty To Southeast And East Texas Crimes

An Amarillo man appeared in a Beaumont federal courtroom yesterday and pleaded guilty to carjacking

and Hobbs Act Robbery. 35-year old Jamelle Antoine Parker forced a woman from her car on Washington

Blvd in Beaumont this past April. He drove the stolen car to the Criss Cross convenience store on MLK

and robbed the clerk. Parker drove to Lufkin and robbed a convenience store. He then ran to a nearby

Whataburger and carjacked a man in the drive-thru. Parker was shot in the leg during a pursuit with

Lufkin police. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
