A wreck in Beaumont has claimed the life of a Sour Lake woman. Beaumont police report 86-year old
Connie Beard attempted to make a U-turn in the 5400 block of College Street yesterday afternoon and
was hit by an oncoming pickup. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup had
minor injuries.
