A man is dead after engaging Beaumont police with a gun Sunday morning. Police responded to a family
violence with a gun call in the 3800 block of North Major Drive. As officers arrived on the scene, the
suspect was speeding away and crashed on RFD at Eastex during a pursuit. He exited the vehicle with a
gun. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
