The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office and fire departments from Kountze, Lumberton and Silsbee are continuing to investigate an early morning house fire in the 5400 block of Lakewood Drive in Kountze that claimed three lives, including two children. Three persons, ages 4, 11 and 27 were deceased inside the home. A 34 year old adult and a small infant escaped and were transported to the hospital. We are working with our partners at the State Fire Marshal’s Office and local fire investigators to determine the cause and origin of this fire. Witnesses reported seeing flames coming from the double-wide mobile home around 2:20 a.m. this morning and multiple fire departments responded to the call.
