Appeals Court Blocks Enforcement Of Texas Immigration Law

The on-again, off-again court block of a Texas law that allows state and local police to arrest suspected illegal immigrants is on again. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday that Texas can enforce the new law, but a few hours later, a panel of the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals temporarily blocked it again. It's not clear what prompted the appeals court to reinstate the block. The Biden administration claims the law tramples on the federal government's exclusive authority to oversee immigration issues.
