The company that owns the Medical Center of Southeast Texas has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Steward Health Care, a Texas based company, says this will not impact the hospital that will remain
open. The company says they filed for bankruptcy as a necessary measure to allow the company to
continue to provide services without disruption. Earlier this year, the company closed the ER at its
Beaumont location and ended hospital related services. The medical office at the Beaumont location
remains open.
