The Astros dropped their series opener in Seattle. Houston lost to the Mariners 3-2 in the first outing of a four-game set at T-Mobile Park. Jose Abreu and Victor Caratini both drove-in a run in the setback. Starting pitcher Framber Valdez slipped to 3-and-3 after allowing three runs through six innings. The Astros have split their last 10 games and currently sit third in the AL West at 24-and-30. They visit the Mariners again tonight. Right-hander Cristian Javier will start opposite Seattle righty Luis Castillo.
