Testimony Resumes In Intoxication Manslaughter Trial

Testimony will resume today in the punishment phase in the intoxication manslaughter trial of a man

charged in the death of an off duty Jefferson County deputy. 40-year old Michael Miller faces two to 20

years for the July 2022 death of 71-year old James Lee. Miller’s vehicle left the road and struck Deputy

Lee who was mowing his lawn on Burrell-Wingate Road. Miller entered a guilty plea and the trial moved

to the punishment phase.
